In 1986, he revived coffee planting on his family’s land, despite his father’s past struggles with frost. Starting with 3,000 trees, he gradually expanded.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"278\" data-end=\"604\" class=\"\"\u003eIn 2018, Edison shifted to specialty coffee, prioritising quality over quantity. This transformed Sítio Gourita, boosting both coffee quality and sustainability. He grows the Topázio variety, known for its smooth, chocolatey flavour. In 2025, the farm produced 575 bags of specialty coffee from a total harvest of 1,200 bags.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"861\" class=\"\"\u003eEdison and his wife, Kerli, now run the farm, with their children, Edison Junior and Maria Eduarda, helping out.
