About the farm:
Grown in the rich red soils of Tanzania’s north-western Mara Region, near the western shores of Lake Victoria and just 25km from the Kenyan border, Tarime Peaberry is vibrant coffee with a story rooted in both terroir and tradition.
This peaberry variety thrives at 1,700 meters above sea level, where cool temperatures (13–25°C) and annual rainfall of around 1,000mm create the ideal environment for slow, flavourful maturation.
After careful handpicking, the beans undergo a meticulous washed process. Following pulping, they are fermented overnight to break down sugars, then channelled to a soaking tank for thorough cleaning. Drying takes place on raised tables for 7 to 14 days, with constant hand-turning and sorting to ensure uniform quality.
The result is a cup that’s bright and lively, with citrus and berry like acidity with notes of sweet brown sugar on the finish.
