About the farm:
Grown by Wako Jegso in the highlands of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, this coffee comes from the Halo Bariti kebele, nestled at an elevation of 2,100 meters above sea level. Wako is a member of the Lemlem Ejersa farmer group, and his farm is a vibrant expression of the region’s biodiversity.
On his family’s land, Wako cultivates heirloom varieties 74110 and Kurume, alongside fruit trees and beehives, fostering a diverse and sustainable ecosystem. A father of 18, Wako inherited the farm from his father and continues the legacy of traditional coffee farming passed down through generations.
For years, Wako sold his cherries to local stations for modest returns. But with better market access and support, his farm now showcases its true potential, producing exceptional specialty coffee that embodies the heritage, resilience, and natural richness of Yirgacheffe.
A very clean version of the processing method used with lots of sweet orange and raspberry with a very syrupy mouthfeel.
